Capital Campaign

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

God does indeed have great plans for Bensalem UMC and we look to a bright future together! The theme of our campaign is Paving the Way For the Future. And that is just what we are looking to do – be good stewards of the blessings that He has given us as we honor our heritage, strengthen our faith and prepare for our future.

Now is the time to look at our beautiful church campus, to recognize areas that are in need of maintenance and updates, address safety concerns, and improve the spaces utilized by our many ministries and events as we are able with the funds that come in from the campaign. We have the opportunity to beautify and update our church to meet our current needs and to welcome continued growth of our church family and programs.

NEED

Our present facilities need capital improvements that go above standard operational upkeep and need to be addressed in a timely manner to avoid costly deferred maintenance issues.

VISION

Our vision is to properly maintain Bensalem UMC’s church facilities to honor God as well as safeguard our congregation’s investment in its future.

IMPACT

These capital improvements will make the church more accessible, ensure the safety of our members and visitors, and create a more welcoming environment for all those who use our facilities and participate in our various ministries. 

Paving the Way For the Future

As with any home, there are certain projects that need to be completed first due to urgency, pricing, and available funds. The feasibility study, conducted in fall 2024, indicated overwhelming congregational support for repaving the parking lot as the first campaign project. BUMC was also blessed to secure an incredible price reduction on the milling and paving of the lot from Becker Paving ($89,500 down from the original $140,000 anticipated cost). They were also generous enough to extend this price through November 19, 2025 barring significant price increases on materials. 

With your continued generosity, when funds come in above the amount needed to complete the parking lot, we will then focus our attention on other projects. Which project(s) would be next would depend on the funding that comes, feedback from the feasibility study, and current urgency. Those potential other projects and their costs include:
 

Paving the Way For the Future

It is our hope that BUMC members and community pray into this campaign and discern what they are able to give to make this campaign a reality. Our initial financial projections, based on feedback from the feasibility study, showed that our church family can raise between $150,000 and $200,000. This would be an incredible blessing and allow for many important capital projects to be completed over the course of the next three years.
